Besides digging deep into the blogosphere for the last 7 years, I have had many titles, but one I really love is writer. Whether it’s developing recipes or writing about health (and some pretty weird subjects), I like to sit and write.
I love learning and writing keeps me in a learning mindset. Food and nutrition is always changing, so are recommendations for health, so if I’m not on the front lines, I might miss out.
I write a lot for LIVESTRONG.com and they have been my most consistent freelance gig for the last 5 years. Here’s where you can find everything I have written for them: https://www.livestrong.com/user/sarah_pflugradt_ms_rdn/
I also love developing recipes specifically for Food & Nutrition Magazine – some of my family’s favorite meals have come from this collaboration – see some of those recipes here
About 4 years ago, I started dreaming of writing a cookbook and I figured I would just go ahead and see if I could…so I did. My first cookbook, Balance, came out in 2017. To be honest, this was a huge learning experience for me and I got better.
I wrote a health guidebook in 2018, called You Get One Body This was a complete labor of love and I stand by everything in this book. We should all be trying our best to live our healthiest life.
Finally in 2019, I released Favorite Family Meals. It was hard work, but worth it. It contains 80 of my favorite recipes that I’ve been making for years.
Through all of these books, I was also teaching college nutrition in Illinois, but we moved back to Germany in the summer of 2019 and that part of my career is taking a hiatus.
Not to be sidelined with learning, I entered a PhD program at Concordia University for Health and Human Performance in the Fall of 2019. I’ll be doing that forever…
If you Google me, you’ll see I’m out there, contributing to all sorts of online and in-print publications, articles, and opinion pieces. I love what I do and I love that you’re here reading all about it. Stay a while and find something good to read.
