Hands down this is my favorite healthy green smoothie. It’s something I have about 3-4 times each week and decided it was time to share. Smoothies are my way of getting multiple servings of fruits and vegetables in at one setting.
I wrote an article for LIVESTRONG a few months ago about what happens to your body if you drink a smoothie everyday. For all the reasons I put in that piece (skin health, gut health, brain health, etc) are all of the reasons for why I actually drink a smoothie each day.
I truly feel like my skin looks better when I increase my fruits and vegetables and I need a way to get more calcium in my diet – this is how I do it.
I’m not a big milk drinker, honestly I don’t know a lot of adults who are. For all my nutrition aficionados, please don’t get hung up on the fact that I add spinach in this and that might inhibit some of the calcium absorption, I’m not worried about it.
There are so many other health benefits from getting 4 servings of fruits and vegetables in a smoothie. Just to be frank, most people don’t get 4 servings in an entire day.
This is also my secret weapon for getting more fruits and veggies in my kids.
There are a million ways to make smoothies – really, the possibilities are truly endless. This healthy green smoothie has 5 ingredients, plus I add collagen in mine, but that is one hundred percent optional.
Here’s what you get in here:
- Mango
- Orange
- Spinach
- Avocado
- Milk
Your mango has to be frozen, or you need to add ice – your choice.
